２１、マウロの返事

　マウロからも返事が来ました。マウロはフランクが紹介してくれたフィレンツェのアーティストです。彼はアーティストであると同時に、フィレンツェで成功している美術学校の学長さんです。常に今を見据えた経営で、フィレンツェを訪れるたびに学校の発展に驚かされます。彼は、現代美術の市場も健全化するという意気込みで最近、画廊の経営も始めました。

　すらっとスマートで、いつもおしゃれなスーツに身を固めたイタリアのジェントルマンです。・・・ここだけはフランクと私とは全然違うところです。

　私と同じようにクラシック音楽と映画を生きる糧にしています。音楽と映画の情報を交換するだけでも楽しい友人です。

Today I am in Naples for work, if you've never been there when you come back in Italy I hope there it will be a chance to visit it together. It is a real city, still integrates, unchanged for tourism and above all full of Neapolitans.

It seems a paradox, but it isn’t because in Florence or Venice there aren’t Florentines and Venetians.

Naples keeps its traditions and its customs jealously, although some of these may be questionable, it is valuable because in a world where every day is all questioned you have some fixed points and you know what you can find.

Even in Europe we are witnessing the Americanization of the world, I feel Italian and Tuscan and Etruscan before, so everything I don’t like.

I believe that artists can do much to push for a strong reflection in this regard.

The work in this direction is all to do.
